International Motors was established in 1986 as the successor to the International Harvester company. It produces trucks under its own brand and buses under the IC Bus name.

Since July 2021 it has been an independent subsidiary of the holding company Traton. Its line runs from medium-duty Class 4 to heavy-duty Class 8 commercial trucks.
