History of the Case IH Maxxum
1990: the 5100 range
Case IH launched the Maxxum 5100 range in 1990 and built it in the former International Harvester factory at Neuss in Germany. That factory had been the source of IH tractors in Europe since the early 1970s and stayed with Case IH until 1997, when production moved on.

Four generations
The 5150 Plus followed in 1993 and the Maxxum Pro range in 1996. In 1997 the range became the MX Maxxum, built at Doncaster in England, and in 2003 the MXM Maxxum was built at Basildon while the MXU Maxxum brought the new Horizon cab. The MX range meanwhile passed to McCormick, and most Basildon production moved to Steyr’s St Valentin factory in 2006.
The film
The video shows a Case IH Maxxum CVX in a German machinery test. It is a working demonstration rather than a specification sheet, and the sources used here do not give the engine or output figures, so none appear on this page.
