History of the Case W20E

Wheel loaders

A wheel loader is a four-wheel-drive machine with a bucket on two arms at the front, used for loading lorries, moving soil and gravel and working stockpiles. Case sells them for construction and earthmoving, and also for farms, dairies and feedlots where large amounts of material have to be moved.

The W-series

The W20E comes from the W-series, the generation of Case wheel loaders before the G-Series of 2016. That renewal brought seven models, numbered from the 521G to the 1121G, and replaced the older names across the range.

The machine in the film

The film shows a W20E working on an earthmoving site in Brazil. The sources used here describe the wheel loader range rather than the W20E itself, so no engine or bucket figures are given.

Design and features

  • W-series machine: one of the Case wheel loaders before the 2016 G-Series.
  • Wheeled loader: bucket on the front, rubber tyres, four-wheel drive.
  • Farm and site work: sold for feedlots and dairies as well as construction.
  • Renewed range: replaced in 2016 by seven G-Series models.

Case W20E versions

  • Case W20E: the loader shown in the film.
  • Other W-series loaders: the rest of the range.
  • G-Series (2016): the seven models from 521G to 1121G that followed.

The newer loaders are on the Case 621 and 721 page, the backhoes on the Case 580 page. More machines are in the Case section.
