The Case IH 433 is a compact tractor of the Case IH range, and the film below shows one mulching a green-manure crop in Germany. The sources used here describe the brand, its factories and its ranges rather than this particular model.

History of the Case IH 433

The brand

Case IH was created in 1985, when Tenneco bought the agricultural division of International Harvester and merged it into its own J. I. Case company. The new brand combined two American tractor traditions and became part of CNH when Case and New Holland merged in 1999.

Where the small tractors came from

Case IH built tractors in Germany at Neuss until 1997 and in Britain at Doncaster until 2001. When Doncaster was sold, the smaller tractor ranges, the C, CX and MXc, went with it to Landini along with the McCormick name. A 433 belongs to that small-tractor part of the range, though the sources do not describe the model itself.

The tractor in the film

The film shows a 433 mulching green manure, the sort of light field and haulage work these tractors are bought for. It gives a good idea of the machine’s size without giving its specification, and the page does not fill the gap with numbers from elsewhere.

Design and features

  • Compact Case IH: a small tractor rather than a big field machine.
  • Mixed European roots: from a brand that built in Germany and Britain as well as America.
  • Small-range history: the C, CX and MXc ranges later went to Landini with Doncaster.
  • In work: the film shows the tractor doing a real farm job.

Case IH 433 versions

  • Case IH 433: the tractor shown in the film.
  • Other small Case IH tractors: the rest of the compact range.
  • Case IH JX and JXU: later small and utility ranges, described on their own pages.

The utility ranges are on the Case IH JX and Case IH JXU pages, and the big tractors on the Case IH Maxxum page. All of them are in the Case section.
