History of the Nissan Pixo
The Suzuki-based Pixo
Between 2009 and 2013 Nissan sold the Suzuki Alto with its own badge as the Pixo. It was a small A-segment city car, the kind of model Nissan did not build itself, and it came from the same kind of OEM arrangement that produced the Kubistar and other alliance-based Nissans in Europe.
The electric Pixo
The name returned in 2026 on the Nissan Pixo EV, a version of the Renault Twingo E-Tech. That car is electric, in keeping with the switch of small European Nissans to battery power, and it shares its platform and body with the Renault rather than with a Suzuki.
Design and features
- City car class: an A-segment model smaller than the Micra.
- OEM badge: the 2009 car was a Suzuki Alto.
- Electric revival: the 2026 Pixo EV comes from Renault.
Nissan Pixo versions
- Nissan Pixo (2009–2013): the Suzuki Alto version.
- Nissan Pixo EV (2026–): the Renault Twingo E-Tech version.
The Pixo sat below the Micra, and its earlier rebadged stablemate was the Moco. More cars are in the Nissan collection.
