International Harvester was formed in 1902 from the merger of the McCormick Harvesting Machine Company, the Deering Harvester Company and three smaller manufacturers. Its brands included McCormick, Deering and, later, International.
In the 1980s the divisions were sold: construction went to Dresser Industries in 1982 and farm equipment to Tenneco's Case Corporation in 1984. The remaining truck business reorganized as Navistar International in 1986 and became International Motors, LLC in 2024.
