The Cagiva Navigator was an enduro-style motorcycle presented by the Varese company in 2000. It was the evolution of the Gran Canyon, itself an evolution of the Elefant, and it abandoned the Ducati engine for a Japanese one derived from the Suzuki TL1000S.

History of the Cagiva Navigator
The Navigator was presented in 2000 as the evolution of the Cagiva Gran Canyon, which was in turn the evolution of the Elefant. Compared with the Gran Canyon it gained capacity, and it gave up the Ducati engine in favour of a Japanese unit derived from the Suzuki TL1000S.

A road bike in enduro clothes
The Navigator was a purely road-oriented enduro, with an 18-inch front wheel, road tyres and firmly set suspension. It was not meant for sand or gravel: the desert-and-road character of the Elefant had already been softened in the Gran Canyon, and the Navigator went a step further towards touring.
The model left production in 2005. Its predecessor, the Gran Canyon 900, had itself gone out of production in 2000, when Ducati stopped supplying engines, and the Navigator was the machine that took its place in the range.
Design and features
- Suzuki engine: a TL1000S-derived V-twin replaced the Ducati units of the Elefant and Gran Canyon.
- More capacity: the Navigator was larger than the Gran Canyon it replaced.
- Road enduro: 18-inch front wheel, road tyres and stiff suspension for asphalt.
- Part of a line: Elefant, then Gran Canyon, then Navigator — each step further from the desert.
Cagiva Navigator versions
- Navigator (2000–2005): the single model, an enduro-styled road bike with a Suzuki V-twin.
The Navigator replaced the Cagiva Canyon in the range, and the old desert role is described in the Cagiva Elefant article. More Cagivas are in the Cagiva collection.
