History of the Piaggio X9
The X9 was produced from the end of 2000 to 2009 in the Pontedera plant, and it was presented in March 2000 in a 250 cc version with 20 hp. Three years later, in 2003, it underwent a first restyling and was renamed the X9 Evolution. Production was discontinued in 2009.

The range
The X9 was available in four different engine options. The entry-level version had a 125 engine of 15 hp and weighed 179 kilograms. The other variants were a 180 cm3, a 250 cm3 and a 459 cm3, the last with a maximum power of 39 bhp.
Equipment
All models were equipped with an instrument cluster with four round analogue elements placed under the fairing, with more than one display acting as a trip computer placed on the handlebars instead. ABS was optional. The X9 was Piaggio’s large scooter of the 2000s: big, comfortable and made for long distances, it was later joined and then replaced in the range by models such as the X8 and the Xevo.
