Peugeot Motocycles began producing the Vivacity 1+2 in 1998 and continued until 2008, when the scooter was redesigned. It was one of the most powerful standard 50 cc scooters, and in its original specification it could reach 75 km/h at 9,000 rpm with 4.7 hp. It was built to compete with the Yamaha BW’s 50 and became one of Peugeot’s biggest commercial successes thanks to its design and its economical but powerful engine. The engine is also easy to modify, which made the Vivacity a popular basis for performance tuning.

Vivacity 3

In 2008 Peugeot unveiled a new design. The Vivacity 3 has a larger storage area under the seat and in the front plastics, giving almost twice the storage of the 1+2, and a 12 V charger for accessories such as satellite navigation. The 125 cc version produced 8.5 bhp and used 5.9 l/100 km, with a dry weight of 118 kg.

Electric version

In 2012 an electric version called the E-Vivacity was produced, continuing Peugeot’s earlier electric experiments with the Scoot’Elec of 1996.

Design and features

  • Powerful 50: 4.7 hp and 75 km/h in the original 1+2.
  • Commercial success: one of Peugeot’s best-selling scooters.
  • More storage: the Vivacity 3 carries almost twice as much as the 1+2.
  • 12 V charger: a socket for navigation and other accessories.
  • Electric option: the E-Vivacity of 2012.

Peugeot Vivacity versions

  • Vivacity 1+2 (1998): the original 50 cc scooter.
  • Vivacity 3 (2008): redesigned with more storage.
  • Vivacity 3 125: the 125 cc version.
  • E-Vivacity (2012): the electric version.

The Vivacity sits below the Speedfight in the small scooter range, and the electric version followed the Scoot’Elec. More in the Peugeot collection.
