History of the Iveco Trakker

The Trakker arrived in 2004 to replace the Eurotrakker. Iveco described it as a heavy-duty product for both off-road and on-road work, and it carried exterior and interior improvements over the lorry it replaced while keeping the same Cursor engine family with outputs between 310 and 480 hp.

In 2012 a facelift brought sharper exterior lines and a new interior taken from the Stralis Hi-Street and Hi-Road models, with power raised to 500 hp. Every version is powered by the Cursor engine family, and all the engines use selective catalytic reduction to meet the European emission standards.

The Trakker was available as a rigid lorry and as a tractor unit, supported by ZF gearboxes with 12 and 16 speeds. In 2021 Iveco replaced it with a new model called the T-Way, the T standing for Tough, powered by the latest Cursor engines with a maximum output of 510 hp and offered in rigid and tractor form with the same ZF transmissions.

Design and features

  • Off and on-road: a heavy lorry built for work away from tarmac as well as on it.
  • Cursor engines: from 310 to 480 hp, then 500 hp after 2012.
  • Stralis cabin: the 2012 facelift adopted the Hi-Street and Hi-Road interior.
  • SCR emissions: selective catalytic reduction on every engine.

Iveco Trakker versions

  • Trakker (2004–2012): original model with 310 to 480 hp.
  • Trakker facelift (2012): new interior and 500 hp.
  • Rigid version: chassis for tippers, mixers and site bodies.
