The Iveco Strator is a lorry with the engine ahead of the cab, the layout that Americans call conventional. It is based on the Australian Iveco PowerStar and was adapted for Europe. It is produced and sold by the Charles Feijts Groep, a Dutch firm working under licence from Iveco.

History of the Iveco Strator
The Strator is based on the Australian Iveco PowerStar but was developed for the European market, where lorries with the engine ahead of the cab are rare. The chassis comes from the Iveco Stralis, and the conversion adds 280 kg compared with the cab-over original.

It uses Iveco Cursor engines of 10.3 and 12.9 litres, all to Euro 5, with outputs between 310 and 410 kW. Every engine holds a flat torque curve between 1,000 and 1,600 rpm, with maximum torque from 1,900 to 2,500 Nm, which gives strong pulling power at low engine speeds. The gearbox is either a 16-speed ZF manual or the ZF Eurotronic automated unit.
Three layouts are offered: a 4×2 two-axle tractor unit with rear-wheel drive, a 6×2 three-axle version with either a steered rear axle or twin rear wheels and drive on one rear axle, and a 6×4 three-axle rear-drive tractor. In some European countries the Strator is sold as a 60-tonne road train.
