History of the Hyundai e-Mighty
The e-Mighty entered production in October 2004, with the first trucks going to Korea; other markets that imported or assembled it included Europe, the Middle East and North America. In several markets the truck was expensive and was replaced by the Hyundai Truck when that model became available worldwide in early 2004. From the 2000s the e-Mighty was also assembled abroad using many local components.
The range was built around the 2.5 and 3.5-tonne classes. In Korea it was sold under the names Gold, Super, Deluxe and HD78, and the line-up included a standard cab with a low long cargo body, a short cargo body or a long cargo body, a double crew cab with a long cargo body, and a standard cab short dump. Chassis cab versions of the 2.5 and 3.5-tonne trucks were offered for bodybuilders.
Its competitors, according to the source, are the Mitsubishi Fuso Canter, Isuzu Elf, UD Atlas, Toyota Dyna and Hino Dutro – the Japanese light trucks that define this class across Asia.
