The Suzuki Raider R150 is a 150 cc underbone motorcycle sold in much of South East Asia, where it is also known as the Satria F150 in Indonesia and the Belang R150 in Malaysia. Its double overhead camshaft engine and rear disc brake set it apart from most small commuters.

History of the Suzuki Raider 150
From the FXR150
The Raider’s engine came from the earlier FXR150 sport bike from Malaysia, the same double overhead camshaft oil-cooled single, but fitted with a 26 mm carburettor instead of 29 mm and detuned from 20 PS to 16.5 PS. Suzuki redesigned the FX125 chassis into an underbone and gave the bike a six-speed short-ratio gearbox, full-length front forks, a rear monoshock, cast alloy wheels, a large front disc and a rear disc brake, which was rare on underbones.

First generation
The first Raider R150 was assembled in Thailand together with the related Raider 125 and launched in 2004 in the Philippines and, as the Satria F150 replacing the two-stroke Satria 120R, in Indonesia. The 2008 facelift moved assembly entirely to Indonesia and gave the bike a headlight inspired by the GSX-R600 and GSX-R750. It reached Malaysia in 2009 as the Belang R150, sold until 2013, and Vietnam in 2013. A second facelift came in 2013 with new bodywork and sharper lines, and in 2015 the engine was reworked to meet Euro 3.
Second generation
The 2016 Raider 150 was completely new: a digital speedometer, LED headlights, a reworked fuel-injected and liquid-cooled engine shared with the GSX-R150 but with different gear ratios, injectors and ECM tuning. It was also assembled from CKD kits in Vietnam as the Raider R150, sold alongside the fully imported Indonesian Satria F150.
Design and features
- DOHC engine: a four-valve twin-cam single in a small underbone.
- Six-speed short-ratio gearbox: tuned for acceleration.
- Rear disc brake: unusual in the class.
- Three market names: Raider R150, Satria F150 and Belang R150.
Suzuki Raider 150 versions
- Raider R150 (2004): the first generation, built in Thailand.
- Satria F150: the Indonesian name, replacing the Satria 120R.
- Belang R150: the Malaysian version, 2009–2013.
- Raider 150 (2016): second generation with fuel injection and liquid cooling.
The Raider’s engine was later shared with the GSX-R150 family, and its hyper-underbone character is close to the AX100 commuter tradition. More Suzukis are in the Suzuki collection.
