The New Holland TS series was one of the company’s main tractor lines around the turn of the century, sitting between the utility TL tractors and the high-horsepower TM models. The film below is the company’s own presentation of the range. The sources used for this page describe the company, not the series.

History of the New Holland TS series
A crowded range
Around 2000 New Holland’s European tractor offer was unusually full: the compact TN tractors, the mid-range TL models, the TS line for larger farms and the TM tractors at the top. The TS was the class bought for serious arable work without the cost of the biggest machines — ploughing, drilling and haulage on farms of a few hundred hectares, with cabs and transmissions a step up from the utility models.

The years of the merger
The TS series was sold exactly when the company was settling into its final shape. Ford bought Sperry New Holland in 1986, Fiat took 80 per cent in 1991, the New Holland name was launched worldwide in 1996 and every tractor was painted blue from 2000. In 1999 New Holland merged with Case, and the new group had to sell the Versatile tractor plant in Winnipeg to satisfy competition rules. New Holland, Case and Steyr tractors of those years are mechanically close, differing mainly in cab and trim.
The film
The film below is a promotional presentation of the TS series, made by the company itself — which makes it a good guide to what New Holland thought the range was for, though not to its specifications. The sources used here do not give the series’ engines, powers or production years, and this page does not supply figures it cannot support.
