The New Holland 5030 is a utility tractor of the TD family, and the film below records one being collected by its new owner in Poland. The sources used for this page describe the company that builds it; like the other TD models it is not documented in detail in encyclopedic sources.

History of the New Holland 5030
The TD line
TD is New Holland’s name for a family of simple utility tractors, sold in large numbers in central Europe and the Mediterranean. The 5030 belongs to it, which is why the film’s Polish owner calls the machine a TD 5030 rather than simply a 5030. These are working tractors rather than show models: they pull trailers, run loaders and do the haulage and yard work of a mixed farm.
The company behind it
New Holland’s European presence was built partly by purchase. Fiat Trattori brought in Braud of France and its grape harvesters in the 1980s; New Holland bought the Polish combine maker Bizon, which held around 60 per cent of the Polish combine market, in 1998; and the 1998 joint venture with Türk Traktör in Ankara gave the group a large Turkish tractor factory. Those purchases are why machines of this size are as common in Poland and Turkey as in western Europe.
Where it fits today
After the 1999 merger with Case, New Holland became part of CNH Industrial, and the tractor range was reorganised around the T numbers: T5 for light work and loaders, T6 and T7 for medium and large farms, T8 and T9 for the heaviest work. Utility machines like the 5030 sit at the bottom of that ladder, doing the jobs now covered by the T5 class.
Design and features
- Value line: a TD-family tractor built and sold for practical farm work.
- Central European market: the film shows one delivered in Poland, where New Holland has sold tractors since the Bizon purchase.
- Utility job: haulage, loader work and yard duties.
- Simple specification: a working tractor rather than a high-technology flagship.
New Holland 5030 versions
- New Holland 5030: the TD 5030 shown in the film.
- Other TD models: the smaller and larger tractors of the same family.
- T5 tractors: the class that replaced utility models of this kind.
The TD family is described on the New Holland TD page, and bigger utility tractors on the New Holland 4055 page. More machines are in the New Holland section.
