History of the Irisbus Magelys

The touring coach of the Irisbus years

The Magelys appeared in 2007, in the second half of the life of the Irisbus brand. In those years the company’s range covered a minibus, city buses such as the CityClass and the Citelis, intercity buses such as the Crossway and touring coaches, and the Magelys was the coach at the top of that list. Its production period ran from 2007 until 2019, so it outlived the Irisbus name itself.

From Irisbus to Iveco Bus

In May 2013 the Irisbus name was retired and the business became Iveco Bus, a division of Iveco. The coach stayed in the catalogue under the new name. The reduced modern range was made up of a minibus on the Daily base, the Urbanway city bus, the Crossway for intercity routes and the Magelys for grand touring, and a later version was sold as the Magelys Pro. The company builds its buses at Annonay, Suzzara, Vysoké Mýto and Rorthais and develops its engines in Italy.
