The Fiat 600 is a subcompact crossover SUV in the B-segment that Fiat has produced since 2023, mainly for the European market. The battery electric version, the Fiat 600e, was unveiled on 4 July 2023, the anniversary of the original Fiat 500, and a petrol-powered mild hybrid followed in September 2023. The nameplate had previously been used by Fiat in the 1950s and 1960s, and in 1997 it returned in spelled-out Italian form as the Seicento.

History of the Fiat 600 (2023)
Development

The 600 was developed under the project code F364 by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. It is manufactured in Poland alongside the Jeep Avenger on the Stellantis Common Modular Platform, known as eCMP, a development of the internal combustion CMP and electric eCMP architectures created by Groupe PSA.
The 600 does not directly replace the Fiat 500X, which remained in the range until 2024. For the United States market the model will not be replaced after the 500X is discontinued; the 600 is sold only in European markets plus select overseas markets such as Chile.
Design
The 600 carries design cues similar to the third-generation Fiat 500e, such as circular headlights and a 600 badge above the front grille. In June 2023 Fiat announced that it would no longer sell cars painted grey, and the 600 is the first model to follow the new philosophy. It is offered in four finishes named Sun, Sea, Earth or Sky of Italy, corresponding to orange (Arancia Sole d’Italia), green (Verde Mare d’Italia), sand (Sabbia Terra d’Italia) and blue (Azzuro Cielo d’Italia).
The interior is similar to both the 500e and the Jeep Avenger, borrowing the steering wheel and climate controls from the former and the centre console from the latter. Entry-level models carry the Product Red trim, available in black, white or red, while an upgraded La Prima trim adds interior equipment and the four Italy-inspired exterior colours.
Powertrains
The electric 600e has a 54 kWh battery with an estimated WLTP range of 400 km. DC fast charging is possible at a maximum rate of 100 kW. A single electric traction motor drives the front wheels with a maximum output of 154 hp (115 kW), matching the Avenger, which is also front-wheel drive and produces a maximum torque of 260 N·m.
A mild hybrid petrol model was added by mid-2024. It uses a 1.2 litre PureTech petrol hybrid producing 136 hp, paired with an eDCT six-speed automatic in which the 21 kW electric motor, inverter and transmission control unit are housed, together with a belt alternator starter. The car has a 48-volt electrical system, and the electric motor assists the engine in powering the vehicle. From March 2026 a 1.2 Turbo version of 100 hp with a six-speed manual gearbox, without the hybrid module, is also offered.
Abarth 600e
In February 2024 Abarth published the first image of the Abarth 600e, a performance version of the standard 600e, while the car was still in final testing. Its interior was shown on 2 April 2024 and the car was fully unveiled on 28 October 2024. All trims except Scorpionissima produce 240 PS (177 kW) and 344 N·m of torque, while Scorpionissima produces 280 PS (206 kW) with the same torque.
