History of the Fiat 505
The Fiat 505 was produced from 1919 to 1925. It was based on the same basic design as the four-cylinder Fiat 501, which Fiat had introduced after the First World War, but it was given a larger engine and bigger exterior dimensions, placing it above the 501 in the range.

The engine displaced 2,296 cc and produced 30 hp, enough for a top speed of 80 km/h. Around 30,000 examples of the 505 were built over its six-year production life, a substantial figure for a car of the early 1920s.

- 2,296 cc four: a 30 hp engine giving 80 km/h.
- Big production: about 30,000 cars built between 1919 and 1925.
