History of the Fendt Farmer 300

The end of the Farmer 300

The Farmer 300 Ci was the series that the Fendt 300 Vario replaced when it entered the market in 2006. The change marked the move from the Farmer name to the Vario name in this power class, and with it the arrival of the stepless Vario transmission, which the predecessor did not have. The 300 Vario was first presented in 2005 and could be ordered from 2006.

First generation (2006–2012)

The first 300 Vario was powered by a four-cylinder Deutz engine. It sat below the larger 700 Vario and above the small 200 Vario, and it took over the role of the Farmer 300 as Fendt’s mid-range tractor for mixed farms.

Second generation (2012–2015)

The second generation was introduced in 2012 and was extended by a new top model, the 313 Vario.

Third and fourth generations (since 2015)

The third generation was presented in July 2014 together with the Fendt 1000 Vario at a press conference at Neuschwanstein Castle. The tractor received a new cab with a raised windscreen to make work with a front loader clearer. After AGCO engines had already been used in the 200 Vario since 2009, they were now fitted to the 300 Vario as well. The entry model became the 310 Vario, and in 2019 the range was extended upwards by the 314 Vario. Since 2020 the 300 Vario has been offered with the FendtOne joystick control, the change that defines the fourth generation.
