History of the Citroën Revolte

A 2CV for a new century

The Revolte takes its design from the Citroën 2CV, bringing that car’s idea into a modern supermini and arguing that style and elegance have become as important in the class as economy and practicality. It is related to the Citroën Survolt, and at 3.68 m long, 1.73 m wide and 1.35 m tall it is compact, with well-defined wheel arches, a curving bonnet, forceful lines and sculpted sides that follow the roof line, giving it a profile similar to the later hybrid supercar concept. The whole car was built in the workshops of Estech France.

Hybrid power

The concept is driven by a rechargeable electric motor and a small-capacity internal combustion engine, and it can run in an all-electric zero-emission mode. Together the engines make 323 hp (241 kW) and 142 lb·ft (193 N·m), enough for a top speed of 140 mph (225 km/h) and 0–60 mph in five seconds.

Design and features

  • 2CV-inspired design: a compact, rounded supermini that quotes the past.
  • Hybrid drive: electric motor plus a small combustion engine, with a zero-emission mode.
  • 323 hp combined: supercar performance in a 3.68 m body.
  • Built by Estech France: the show car was manufactured in French workshops.
