History of the Yamaha Majesty

The Majesty was presented in Japan in 1995 and exported to European markets afterwards. It was launched as a 250 cc scooter in four metallic colours, blue, grey, red and black, with lower body panels in light or dark shades depending on the main colour.

The original Majesty had a single front disc brake and a rear drum brake, with a handbrake operated from the left lever. Its engine was a liquid-cooled four-stroke with two valves. All versions came with a double stand and, unlike many rivals, two hooks for towing the vehicle.

A light restyling arrived in 1999. It added a courtesy light under the seat, new mirror shapes, body-coloured lower panels, black instead of dark grey plastics, revised seat stitching, matte black brake levers, a fuel flap with a push button and a raised Yamaha emblem. The 400 cc version joined the range in 2003, giving the Majesty a larger engine for longer journeys.
