History of the Suzuki Sixteen

Taking on the SH

Suzuki developed the Sixteen to compete with the Honda SH series, the benchmark for high-wheel scooters in Europe. Both the 125 and the 150 cc versions were introduced at the same time in late 2007, and deliveries began in 2008.

What it is

The Sixteen is a conventional step-through scooter with large wheels, a layout that gives more stability and comfort over rough city roads than small-wheel scooters. The 125 cc version fits European learner and A1 licence rules, while the 150 cc model offers a little more power for the same kind of use.

Design and features

  • High wheels: large-diameter wheels for stability on poor surfaces.
  • Two sizes: 125 cc for European licence classes and 150 cc for more power.
  • Honda SH rival: designed specifically to compete with the market leader.

Suzuki Sixteen versions

  • Sixteen 125: the 125 cc version.
  • Sixteen 150: the 150 cc version.

Suzuki’s other scooters include the Burgman and the Access 125. More Suzukis are in the Suzuki collection.
