History of the Renault Wind
From concept to production
The Wind was first presented as a concept car at the 2004 Paris Motor Show as a 2+1 roadster, powered by an inline four producing 136 bhp and 191 N·m. On 2 February 2010 Renault announced the Wind would enter production and presented the production model at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show. The production version seats two passengers, unlike the 2+1 layout of the concept.

Twingo foundations
The concept’s design evoked the performance versions of the Clio and Mégane, while the production model is heavily based on the Twingo, evident in its overall size and stance, its windscreen wiper mechanism and its semi-circular door handles, which are exactly the same as those of the Twingo.
Withdrawal from the UK
In February 2012 Renault retired the Wind along with the Espace, Kangoo Multix, Modus and Laguna lines in the United Kingdom, and in mainland Europe the Wind remained available only through June 2013.
