In October 2015 the German Car Company Porsche has brought to Tokyo Motor Show a very interesting novelty represented by the “charged” crossover Macan GTS – an intermediary between the base “S-versions” and a ferocious version of Porsche Turbo. The car has not only got distinctive exterior and interior “decor”, but has also acquired some new equipment.
Visually Porsche Macan GTS stands out with impressive front bumper with black straps on the sides of ventilation slots, modified rear diffuser and RS Spyder wheel discs with a diameter of 20 inches, as well as Satin Black finishing. In other respects it’s exactly the same “predatory” SUV, ready to give a hit to competitors.
External dimensions of GTS model slightly differ from the basic S version: length – 4692 mm, width – 1926, height – 1609 mm. On other indicators, nothing has changed – the wheelbase of a crossover fits in 2807 mm and the clearance is adjusted by air suspension in the range of 180 to 230 mm. Luggage compartment of the crossover accommodates from 500 to 1500 liters of luggage, and a defective spare tire its place in the “cellar”.
The interior of Macan GTS mostly follows Porsche model S version: “family” design, precise ergonomics, high-quality finishing materials, sports front seats with pronounced side bolsters and comfortable rear seats. Still there are several distinctive features in GTS model – lined with leather and Alcantara seats, red tachometer, safety belts in red and logos of «GTS» for additional payment.
As for the technical specifications – the engine compartment of Porsche Macan GTS has a V-shaped six-cylinder bi-turbocharged engine of 3.0 liter with direct fuel supply and function of the “Start / Stop”, generating 360 “horses” at 6000 / min and 500 Nm of peak thrust at 1650-4000 rev / min. It is accompanied with a 7-speed PDK “robot” and the all-wheel drive with multi-plate clutch.
Acceleration of Porsche Macan GTS to the first 100 km / h takes 5.2 seconds (in case of optional modification “Sport Chromo” – 0.2 seconds less). Maximum speed of the new crossover munts to 256 km / h, and the average fuel consumption in the mixed mode is fixed at 9.2 liters per 100 km.
On the part of technology GTS-version does not differ a lot from the S model: MLB / MLP «truck», double front wishbone and multi-link rear suspension with pneumatic components, electromechanical power steering wheel and four ventilated discs with a diameter of 350 and 330 mm in the front and rear respectively.
In its base modification Porsche Macan GTS has leather trimming, eight airbags, three-zone “climate”, 20-inch wheels, navigation system, premium stereo system, “cruise control”, power tailgate, as well as other systems providing comfort and safety to the driver.
