History of the Plymouth Arrow
The Arrow was one of several Mitsubishi models that Chrysler sold in North America as captive imports. In Canada the same vehicles were marketed as the Dodge Arrow.
The first of the two was the Mitsubishi Celeste, a compact car sold as the Plymouth Arrow from 1976 to 1980. It was offered with a choice of a 1.6-litre or a 2.0-litre inline four, either with a Torqueflite automatic transmission or a five-speed manual, and in three trim levels named 160, 200 and GT.
The pickup
From 1979 the Arrow name was also used for the Mitsubishi Forte, a compact pickup truck that Plymouth sold until 1982. The two vehicles shared nothing but the badge and the showroom.
