The New Holland TC series is the compact end of the company’s tractor range: small machines with four-wheel drive and hydrostatic or mechanical transmissions, bought by smallholders, stables, golf clubs and municipal yards. The film below shows a TC 5060. The sources used for this page describe the company, not the series.

History of the New Holland TC series

Small tractors, serious work

The TC series is what the company sold to buyers who did not need a farm tractor but did need a tractor: smallholdings with a few hectares, livery yards, landscapers, parks departments. Compact machines of this kind are usually four-wheel drive, narrow enough for tight yards and fitted with a three-point hitch so that they can carry the same implements as a bigger tractor, plus a front loader for muck, gravel and bales.

The company in those years

The TC series was sold under the single New Holland brand, which was launched worldwide in 1996 after Ford and Fiat had merged their tractor businesses. In 1999 New Holland merged with Case to form CNH, later CNH Industrial, and the tractor range was reorganised around the T numbers: T5 for light work and front loaders, T6 and T7 for medium and large farms, T8 and T9 for the heaviest field work. Compact and hobby tractors stayed a category of their own alongside them.

The tractor in the film

The film below records a TC 5060 — a compact tractor of the series bought new by a private owner in Poland. The sources used here do not give the series’ engine sizes, powers or production years, and this page does not supply figures it cannot support. What they do show is where these machines sat in the range: below the farm tractors, but built for the same buyers’ yards and fields.

Design and features

  • Compact class: small tractors for smallholdings, stables and yards.
  • Loader-ready: front loaders such as the 7308 were matched to TC tractors.
  • Single-brand years: sold after the 1996 launch of the New Holland name.
  • Own category: compacts and hobby tractors sit alongside the T5-T9 classes.

New Holland TC series versions

  • New Holland TC 5060: the tractor shown in the film.
  • Smaller TC models: the compact models of the same series.
  • Loader attachments: front loaders such as the 7308.

The loader built for these tractors is on the New Holland 7308 page, and the full-size range on the New Holland T series page. More machines are in the New Holland section.
