The New Holland 3230 is a compact utility tractor of the sort New Holland sells in Asia rather than in Europe. The film below stages it against a Sonalika 745, an Indian-built rival, and that pairing is the most reliable thing this page can say about the machine’s market. The sources used here describe the company, not the model.

History of the New Holland 3230
Small tractors, big markets
New Holland’s agricultural range covers far more than the large European tractors the brand is known for in the west. The company is present in 170 countries and builds in Asia through its own plants and joint ventures: New Holland FIAT India, a wholly owned subsidiary since 1996, works from Greater Noida near New Delhi, and there are partner factories in Dera Ghazi Khan in Pakistan and in Ankara in Turkey, where the Türk Traktör joint venture with the Koç group began in 1998 on a site that had built Fiat tractors since 1967. Utility tractors of the 3230’s size are the bread of those factories.
What the film shows
The film below is a comparison test between a New Holland 3230 and a Sonalika 745. Sonalika is an Indian maker, and a head-to-head of this kind is typical of the small-tractor market of the subcontinent, where such machines do the work that larger tractors do elsewhere. The sources used here do not give the 3230’s engine, power or gearbox, and this page does not supply numbers it cannot support.
