History of the Lotus 2-Eleven

The 2-Eleven takes the mechanical package of the Exige S and strips it down to an open track car. The engine is Toyota’s 2ZZ-GE four with VVTL-i variable valve timing, fed by an Eaton M62 Roots-type supercharger and an intercooler. In this form it produces 252 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 242 N·m of torque at 7,000 rpm.

At 670 kg the car reaches 60 mph in 3.8 seconds and tops out at 150 mph. It was intended as a track-day car and cost £39,995, with a fully road-legal conversion available from Lotus for a further £1,100. The track version differs slightly from the road car: it is a little longer at 3,872 mm and lighter at 666 kg.
