History of the Kymco Maxxer
Launch in 2005
The Maxxer entered production in late 2005 with two models, the Maxxer 50 and the Maxxer 300. The 50 cc version used a two-stroke or four-stroke engine with forced-air cooling and came with both electric and kick starting. The 300 was liquid-cooled and had electric starting only. Tank capacity ran from 5.2 litres on the 50 to 12.5 litres on the 300, and top speed from 45 km/h on the small model to 83 km/h on the 300.

Later versions
In 2010 Kymco added the Maxxer 450i, and the range has also included 90 and 400 cc models. In Italy the colours depended on the engine size: the 50 was sold only in red, while the 300 came in orange, white and blue.
Design and features
- Sporty positioning: the Maxxer was Kymco’s sport quad line, separate from the utility MXU.
- Two engine characters: a light forced-air 50 and a liquid-cooled 300.
- Big fuel range on the 300: 12.5 litres and 83 km/h.
- Long model life: from the 2005 launch to the 450i added in 2010 and later 400.
Kymco Maxxer versions

- Maxxer 400: larger version of the range.
The utility MXU was the other Kymco quad family. More models are in the Kymco collection.
