The Kymco Venox is a motorcycle from the Taiwanese manufacturer Kymco, sold since 2000. It is a small cruiser built around a 249.4 cc V-twin whose dimensions and styling were deliberately chosen to suggest a machine of 750 to 900 cc.

History of the Kymco Venox

Design and engine

The Venox has a liquid-cooled four-stroke V-twin of 249.4 cc in a 90-degree configuration, with double overhead camshafts and four valves per cylinder, producing 28 hp (21 kW). For the design and development of the bike Kymco commissioned the German company Naumann Design. Several aspects of the Venox styling recall larger motorcycles: its wheelbase of 1,600 mm and its overall look are similar to those of a machine with a 750 to 900 cc engine.

Venox 250i

An updated version called the Venox 250i was introduced to the market in 2006. Unlike the first model it was fitted with electronic fuel injection, and it met the Euro 2 emission rules rather than the Euro 1 standard of the carburetted version.

Design and features

  • 90-degree V-twin: 249.4 cc with DOHC and four valves per cylinder.
  • Big-bike look: a 1,600 mm wheelbase and proportions of a 750–900 cc machine.
  • German design: developed with Naumann Design.
  • Fuel injection: added on the 250i in 2006 with Euro 2 emissions.

Kymco Venox versions

  • Venox 250: the original carburetted model from 2000.
  • Venox 250i: fuel-injected version from 2006.

The Venox is Kymco’s small cruiser, a different kind of machine from the Quannon sports bike and the Xciting maxi-scooter. More models are in the Kymco collection.
