History of the JLG G6-42A
JLG Industries was founded in 1969, when John Landis Grove and two partners bought a metal fabrication business in McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania. Its first aerial work platform was built in 1970 and scissor lifts followed in 1973. The company is now part of Oshkosh Corporation, which acquired it in late 2006.
JLG offers three brands of commercial telescopic handlers: JLG, SkyTrak and Lull. SkyTrak and Lull were acquired in 2003, and Lull machines were last offered in 2015. The telehandlers from the three brands feature all-wheel steering with two-wheel, four-wheel circle and four-wheel crab modes, capacities from 5,500 to 17,000 pounds and heights up to 55 feet, together with a wide variety of attachments.
Across the range the telehandlers use Tier 4i and Tier 4 final diesel engines, which meet the EPA’s Tier 4 emission standards for nonroad diesel engines; the company describes them as giving higher fuel efficiency and a reduced impact on the environment. The Lull line added its own feature, a traversing boom for precision placement.
