E-Z-GO calls the RXV its newest generation of golf cars. Where the TXT is the series the company is best known for, the RXV is the design it presents as its current product, and it marks the point where the golf car — E-Z-GO’s single product until 1973 — took its latest form.

Based on one source: the RXV is covered in one sentence of the German Wikipedia article on E-Z-GO, which gives no technical data, production years or sales figures. The English Wikipedia has no E-Z-GO article, only a redirect to Textron.

History of the E-Z-GO RXV

The RXV belongs to the golf car range with which E-Z-GO began: the company built nothing but golf cars until 1973 and still says it leads that market. In the German Wikipedia article the RXV is named as the newest generation of E-Z-GO golf cars, with the TXT described as the best-known series the company has built. That makes the RXV the successor in the showroom rather than a new kind of vehicle: the layout — a light, open car with a roof for two or four people — is the classic golf car one.

Power

Most vehicles from the Augusta factory are delivered with an electric motor, and again petrol engines are available as an alternative, a choice that runs through the whole range. Electric golf cars suit courses, resorts and hotel grounds because they are quiet and need no fuel handling on site; the same cars are also found on large hotel grounds, and from the golf car base E-Z-GO developed its working vehicles.

Place in the range

Alongside the RXV the company sells the MPT and ST as working machines, with higher ground clearance and partly off-road tyres for landscape maintenance, and it built the XI series of electric and petrol trucks for logistics work in the 1990s. The golf car line, of which the RXV is the newest chapter in the sources used here, remains the product on which the marque was founded.

Design and features

  • Newest golf car: named by E-Z-GO as the current generation of its golf car range.
  • Electric first: the standard specification is an electric motor, with petrol as an option.
  • Golf course and resort use: quiet, compact transport for sites where a car does not fit.
  • Lithium variant: the RXV Elite appears in photographs of the model as the lithium-battery version.

E-Z-GO RXV versions

  • RXV electric: the standard golf car.
  • RXV with petrol engine: the combustion-engined alternative offered in the range.
  • RXV Elite: the lithium-battery version of the model.
  • Earlier generation: the TXT, still the best-known E-Z-GO series.

The earlier and best-known E-Z-GO series is the TXT; the working versions of the range are the E-Z-GO ST and E-Z-GO MPT. More about the marque is on the E-Z-GO brand page, and more vehicles in the E-Z-GO collection.
