History of the Avia A75
In 1997 Avia modernised the A series for the last time. The new models were sold as A60, A70, A75 and A80, and production ran from 1998 alongside the last A21T and A31T trucks. They received a completely new chassis with a riveted frame, a fixed front axle and front disc brakes, together with smaller 205/75–17.50 wheels. The cab was completely new inside and, most importantly for operators, it tilted forward, something customers had asked for since the 1980s.

The engines were Euro 2 diesels of 76 kW or 85 kW with an intercooler, coupled to a five- or six-speed gearbox. The vehicles were sold with the usual Avia choice of bodies: platform trucks, box vans, tippers and special superstructures built on the chassis-cab.
By this time the Letňany factory belonged to Daewoo, which had bought a majority stake in 1995 through the Daewoo Steyr consortium; the trucks were often marketed as Daewoo-Avia. Production of the A series ended on 13 November 2000, after about 250,000 vehicles of the whole A family — A15, A20/21, A30/31, A60/65, A70/75/80 — had left the works since 1968. The A series was replaced by the new D range, which had been presented at the Brno truck show in June 2000.

- Front disc brakes: part of the 1997 modernization.

Avia A75 versions
- A60: the lightest model of the 1997 range.
- A70: the intermediate model; English Wikipedia lists this position as the A65.
- A75: one of the two heavier models of the range.
- A80: the heaviest of the final A-series models.
- Daewoo-Avia branding: trucks sold while the factory was owned by Daewoo.
The final A series replaced the Avia A31, and it was itself replaced by the Avia D90 and the rest of the D range. More models are in the Avia collection.
