The A1012T was presented in 1996 as the A10-12T.01 Lider, and the manufacturer treated it as a tourist coach. It succeeded the tourist variants of the H10 series, the H10-12.18 and H10-12.21, and it was the 12-metre member of the new modular A10 Lider family, alongside the shorter A1010T Lider. The A10 family later became the backbone of the Sanok range, with the A1010T and A1012T gradually taking over from the H10 in the second half of the 1990s.

The school Eagle

In 2005 Autosan presented the school version A1012T Eagle, adapted for left-hand traffic and sold in the United Kingdom and Ireland. The A1012T was offered as a tourist coach, an intercity bus and in suburban form, and the type was eventually replaced by the A1213C Eurolider, a member of the newer Eurolider range.

Design and features

  • Twelve-metre body: the longest member of the modular A10 Lider family, sharing its structure with the A1010T.
  • Modular family: tourist, intercity and suburban variants were built on the same basic design.
  • Right-hand-drive school bus: the A1012T Eagle was developed specifically for Britain and Ireland.
  • Family continuity: it replaced the tourist H10-12 models and was itself replaced by the Eurolider.

Autosan A1012T versions

  • A10-12T.01 Lider (1996): the original tourist version.
  • A1012T Lider intercity: the standard intercity bus.
  • A1012T Lider suburban: a version for local and suburban services.
  • A1012T Eagle RHD (2005): school bus for the UK and Irish markets.
  • A1213C Eurolider: the later successor model.

The A1012T replaced the tourist versions of the H10 series, and its bigger coach stablemate was the A1112T family. More Polish buses are in the Autosan collection.
