Abarth Monotipo (Stola, 1998): the one-off Lancia-powered coupé

The Abarth Monotipo (also called the Stola Monotipo or Abarth Monotipo 98) was a one-off coupé built by Stola and shown at the 1998 Turin Motor Show, designed by Aldo Brovarone and powered by a turbocharged 2.0-litre engine based on the Lancia Delta Integrale unit. The two sources used here do not agree on every detail, so this page shows both values where they differ. No free photograph of the car was available for this page.

History of the Monotipo

The Monotipo was a technology demonstrator by the coachbuilder Stola, drawn by the former Pininfarina designer Aldo Brovarone and unveiled at the 1998 Turin Motor Show. Supercars.net says it was built on a lengthened Fiat Spider chassis; it is not meant for production. Conceptcarz notes that after the show journalists tested the car and manufacturers evaluated it, and that it differs from the Stola Dedica, which used hand-formed sheet steel.
