in March 2016 in terms of Geneva international Motor show the French Company Citroen held a formal demonstration of a new family van named SpaceTourer – “the fruit of” co-operation of the French group PSA Peugeot Citroen and Japan’s Company Toyota.
The exterior of Citroen SpaceTourer was designed in a “family” style of the French brand, making a full-size van look modern, stylish and attractive, but not bulky at all.
Citroen SpaceTourer is offered with three options of length and two types of wheelbase: the novelty might be 4606, 4956 or 5306 mm long, while its width and height reach 1920 mm and 1905 mm respectively. In a curb state the van weighs from 1587 to 1730 kg depending on the modification.
The interior of Citroen SpaceTourer looks fresh, beautiful and ergonomically – “sporty” multi-wheel, stylish and laconic “shield” of devices with on-board computer display, 7-inch screen of the multimedia center and fashionable climate “control.” Inside the car is dominated by exceptionally neat trimming materials, and the quality of elements fitting is executed at a very high level.
The salon of the French minivan depending on modification is able to accommodate from 5 to 9 people (including the driver). In the front part can be mounted two or three seats, behind which placed one or two triple sofas – each of them moving on “sled” and divided into three equal sections individually adjustable by the angle of the backrest inclination.
Among other things, the new family van might have other options for space organization, including the VIP-version with counter-movement second row of seats and a sliding table.
The luggage compartment of Citroen SpaceTourer (depending on the modification) is designed to carry from 550 to 4200 liters of luggage (with two rear seat rows folded or completely removed from the cabin), while the maximum capacity of a full-size minivan reaches 1400 kg.
Citroen SpaceTourer is equipped with four-cylinder diesel BlueHDi engines exclusively (front drive only) with in-line layout, Common Rail fuel injection, turbocharger and the “Start / Stop” system, which meets the environmental demands of “Euro-6” standard.
In France, Citroen SpaceTourer is sold at 36 000 euros – this is the price for the standard version (XS). Already in the “base” the car is equipped with a set of airbags (front and side), power windows, air conditioning, heated front seats, LED DRL, fog lamps, 17-inch wheels, multimedia center, factory audio system, ABS, ASR, ESP, AFU and other “bells and whistles”.
