History of the Renault Talisman
Launch
The saloon version was first unveiled on 6 July 2015 at the Château de Chantilly by Renault’s chief executive Carlos Ghosn, with an estate version shown at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show two months later. The two versions were allegedly codenamed LFD for the saloon and KFD for the estate.
Platform
The car is based on the CMF-CD platform jointly developed by Renault and Nissan, and it was the second Renault to use it after the Espace. Using the new platform was aimed at giving the Talisman a modern technical basis for the large family class.
The end
Renault ended Talisman production in Europe in February 2022. In April 2024 Renault Korea announced that the SM6 would be discontinued in South Korea, as the company adopted the global diamond logo on its other models, and Korean production ran until 2025.
