The Nissan Titan was a full-size pickup built by Nissan USA in Canton, Mississippi for the North American market from September 2003 to November 2024, over two generations. History of the Nissan Titan
Development
Work on the Titan began in September 1999 with design led by Diane Allen, and Giovanny Arroba’s TA60 exterior was chosen in late 2000, frozen in July 2001. The design language had been previewed by the Alpha T concept shown at the 2001 North American International Auto Show, developed through November 2000. Production started on 21 September 2003 and sales on 1 December 2003. The Titan used Nissan’s new full-size F-Alpha platform, shared with the Nissan Armada and Infiniti QX56, all three built at Canton.

First generation (A60)
Every model had the 32-valve 5.6-litre VK56DE V8 of 317 hp, or 305 hp on 2004–2007 cars, with 385 lb·ft of torque. The Titan had a fully boxed ladder frame, rear-wheel drive or a shift-on-the-fly four-wheel-drive system and a five-speed RE5R05A automatic, with an automatic brake-limited slip system available on all cars. It came as a King Cab with a 6 ft 7 in bed or a crew cab with a 5 ft 7 in bed, and from 2008 a longer wheelbase offered an 8 ft 3 in bed on the King Cab or 7 ft 3 in on the crew cab. Trims were XE, SE and LE, each with an Off-Road package on four-wheel-drive models, and Pro-4X arrived for 2008 in four-wheel drive only.
Later years
For 2011 the trims were renamed S, SV and SL, and Pro-4X remained: S was the base, SV the mid-level, Pro-4X the off-road version and SL the top car, with things such as 20-inch alloy wheels as standard. The first generation continued without a major redesign through 2015. The second generation was built from November 2015 for the 2016–2024 model years, adding a diesel engine alongside a revised version of the petrol V8 and offering a regular cab for the first time. Production ended in November 2024.
