NV is the prefix Nissan uses for a family of commercial vans rather than a single model. The range runs from kei-class vehicles through compact and light vans to full-size American models, and several of them are rebadged Renault or Suzuki products.

History of the Nissan NV
Kei and compact vans
The NV100 Clipper is a rebadged Mitsubishi Minicab or Suzuki Every built for the Japanese market, and the NV100 Clipper Rio is its passenger version, a rebadged Suzuki Every Wagon. The NV150 AD is the subcompact van and wagon sold in Japan, the commercial branch of the AD line.
Alliance vans
Several NV models come from Renault under the alliance: the NV250 is a rebadged Kangoo, the NV300 a rebadged Trafic and the NV400 a rebadged Master, all for European markets. Nissan’s own light van is the NV200, sold in Asia, Europe and America, while the NV350 Caravan and NV350 Urvan cover light van and minibus duties in Asian markets.
North America
The North American range uses the NV name with four digits: the NV1500, NV2500 and NV3500 are full-size vans built for that market, distinct from the smaller European and Japanese models that share the prefix.
Design and features
- One prefix, many vans: NV covers kei cars to full-size American vans.
- Alliance rebadges: the NV250, NV300 and NV400 come from Renault.
- Japanese kei models: the NV100 Clipper comes from Mitsubishi and Suzuki.
- Two naming systems: three digits in Japan and Europe, four in North America.
Nissan NV versions
- NV100 Clipper and Clipper Rio: the kei van and its passenger version.
- NV150 AD: the compact Japanese van.
- NV200: the light van sold worldwide.
- NV250, NV300 and NV400: the Renault-based European vans.
- NV350 Caravan and NV3500: the larger Asian and North American vans.
The best-known member of the family is the NV200, and the Renault-based vans correspond to the Kubistar and Primastar lines. More cars are in the Nissan collection.
