History of the Mercedes-Benz F125
The F125 was built to celebrate 125 years of the car and was presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2011. It is a two-door coupé five metres long whose front gullwing doors give access to both the front and the rear seats.

Each wheel has its own electric motor, making a rear-drive-biased four-wheel-drive system that Mercedes-Benz calls e4MATIC. The front motors produce 50 kW (68 PS) each and the rear ones 100 kW (136 PS) each, for a total peak of 230 kW (312 PS). The motors draw power from a 10 kWh lithium-sulphur battery mounted vertically behind the rear seats, and the battery is fed by a hydrogen fuel cell placed between the front wheels.
Mercedes-Benz claimed acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and a top speed of 220 km/h. The car remained a show vehicle and did not enter production.

- Fuel cell and battery: a hydrogen stack between the front wheels feeding a lithium-sulphur battery.
- Gullwing front doors: opening upwards to give access to both rows.
- Anniversary design: a five-metre coupé marking 125 years of the brand.
Mercedes-Benz F125 versions
- F125 concept (2011): the only version built.
The F125 followed earlier fuel-cell cars such as the F-Cell and research vehicles such as the F200. More in the Mercedes-Benz collection.
