The PowerFarm is one of the utility tractor ranges of Landini, the firm founded at Fabbrico in 1884 and part of the Argo group since 1994. The machine in this collection is a PowerFarm 105 photographed at work with a plough; the sources available for this page describe the company rather than the individual model.

History of the Landini PowerFarm
Utility tractors in the Landini catalogue
Landini has built farm tractors at Fabbrico since the 1920s, first with hot-bulb engines and from 1957 with diesels built under a Perkins licence. Over the decades the catalogue split into families: big machines such as the Large series of 1977, the first European tractor above 100 CV with a suspended platform cab; medium tractors such as the 500 series of 1973 and the series 80 of 1988; and specialist orchard and vineyard models from 1982. Utility tractors, of which the PowerFarm is one range, sit in the middle of that catalogue, doing transport and general farm work rather than heavy tillage or work between rows.
Argo and the modern range
In February 1994 Landini was taken over by the Morra group, which became Argo. The new industrial plan appeared to work: the number of tractors sold rose by 30 per cent compared with the previous year. Between 1994 and 1996 the company signed a series of commercial agreements, beginning with one with ISEKI, and in January 1995 it bought Valpadana, a specialist in small farm machinery. In 2000 the whole range was renewed, with the Mythos, Gibli, Globus and Atlas replacing the series 80.
The PowerFarm in this collection
The tractor in the video is a PowerFarm 105 working with a plough, the kind of general-purpose job the utility ranges are made for. The published company histories in Italian, French and German describe the group, its factories and its ownership but say nothing specific about the PowerFarm models, so this page does not repeat output figures or transmission details it cannot support. The model’s name and number are those under which it was sold, and the machine is shown as it was photographed at work.
Design and features
- Utility role: general farm work and transport rather than specialist row-crop duties.
- Landini diesel: the range follows the Perkins-derived engines that the firm had built since 1957.
- Argo-era product: the PowerFarm belongs to the catalogue of the years after the 1994 takeover by the Morra family.
- Shown at work: the 105 model in the video is ploughing, a typical task for the class.
Landini PowerFarm versions
- PowerFarm 105: the model shown in the video on this page.
- Other PowerFarm models: the range was sold in several sizes; the company histories used here do not list them.
- Related Landini ranges: the specialist Rex for orchards and the crawler Trekker.
The utility range sits alongside the specialist Rex and the crawler Trekker, while the earlier medium tractors are described with the 6550. More Landini machines are in the Landini collection.
