The Lambretta LN is a modern scooter that carries one of the most famous names in Italian two-wheelers. The LN 125 and the larger LN 151 were presented at the EICMA show in Milan in 2010, but the business behind them has no direct connection with the old Innocenti factory.

The modern LN is little documented in Wikipedia; this page is based on the brand article and on the EICMA photograph.

History of the Lambretta LN

After Innocenti stopped building scooters in 1971, the Lambretta name passed through several hands. The international trademark is now owned by Innocenti S.A., also known as the Lambretta Consortium, based in Lugano in Switzerland, which has licensed the brand around the world. The company has no direct connection with the original Innocenti manufacturing company or with the Milan scooters, other than the use of the name.

The LN was the model with which the revived brand returned to the scooter market. The LN 125 and the larger LN 151 were shown at the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan in 2010, styled as a modern tribute to the classic Lambretta look. The range was aimed at buyers who wanted the image of the 1960s scooters in a new machine with modern equipment.

The LN should therefore be understood as a separate story from the Innocenti Lambrettas described elsewhere in this collection: it is a modern product wearing a historic badge, not a continuation of the Milan production line that ended in 1971.
