The JAC Refine M2 is a compact MPV produced by JAC Motors. It was first shown in 2011 as the JAC Heyue RS, and it was later moved from the Heyue series into the newly established Refine range. Outside China it has been sold as the JAC J6.

History of the JAC Refine M2

The original JAC Heyue RS was revealed in 2011, with prices ranging from 72,800 to 93,800 yuan. It was a compact MPV, a body style that was growing quickly in China at the time, and it used the Heyue name that JAC applied to its passenger cars.

A facelift was revealed in 2012 and changed the front and rear significantly. The revised car kept the same mechanical layout but wore different lights and bumpers, giving it a cleaner look than the original.

Later the product was moved from the Heyue series to the newly established Refine series, just like many other products in the Refine range, and it became the JAC Refine M2. The Refine name had started with JAC’s van line, and the company used it to group its MPVs and SUVs. In export markets the compact MPV was sold as the J6.

Design and features

  • Two engines: a 1.5-litre unit in the standard Heyue MPV and a 1.8-litre in the RS.
