History of the Isuzu Turquoise
A Turkish-built Isuzu
The Turquoise is built by Anadolu Isuzu, the Turkish joint venture that also makes other Isuzu buses and light trucks for Turkey and for export. Where Isuzu’s Japanese range includes city buses and heavy coaches, the Turquoise fills the gap in between as an intercity midibus with 26 or 31 seats.

Mechanical layout
The bus is 7.7 m long and has a gross vehicle weight of 10.4 tonnes. Power comes from the 5.2-litre 4HK1E6C diesel engine, which produces 190 hp and 510 Nm of torque. The standard gearbox is Isuzu’s MZZ-6 six-speed manual, with the NESS six-speed automated manual available as an option. The longer 31-seat version is sold as the Euro Turquoise.
In service
Turquoises are used on intercity and regional routes, and the model has been exported to many countries, Morocco among them. In Europe the bus has appeared with operators in France and Poland, and photographs also show it at bus stations in Cyprus and Hungary.
