History of the Deutz Agrale
From AGRISA to Agrale
The company was originally called AGRISA (Indústria Gaúcha de Implementos Agrícolas SA) and built AGRISA-Bungartz tractors under licence from the German firm Bungartz. It was established in 1962 and is based in Caxias do Sul in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. The most traditional part of its business is the manufacture of small tractors, with power from 14.7 hp, intended mainly for work in the vineyards of the wine region of Rio Grande do Sul near the company headquarters.

The alliance with Deutz-Fahr
Later alliances included Deutz-Fahr, when Agrale built some tractors and trucks under the Agrale-Deutz name, and later Zetor. The tractors the company manufactures include both self-developed models and ones based on Zetor designs. Agrale is now part of the Francisco Stedile Group, which also includes the Lavrale, Fazenda Três Rios, Germani Foods and Yanmar-Agritech Tractors companies.
Tractor ranges
The first tractors were the Agrale models 415, 416 and 420 of the 400 Series; the 420 model 4100 gave rise to the following series, which is still produced today with several changes, mostly cosmetic. The 4000 series consisted of the models 4100, 4200 and 4300, and the 4100 remains in production as the 4118, 4230 and 4240, in 4×2, 4×4 and industrial versions. The BX series was produced from the 1990s and led to the current 5000 and 6000 series; the 6000 series consists of three 4×4 models, the BX6110 with a 105 hp four-cylinder MWM TD229 EC4, the BX6150 with a 140 hp six-cylinder MWM TD229 EC6 and the BX6180 with a 168 hp version of the same six.
