History of the Ayats Olimpia
A bodybuilder from Arbúcies
Ayats is the trading name of Carrocerías Ayats SA, a Spain-based coachbuilder. The company was established in 1905 by Juan Ayats in Arbúcies, a village in the Selva county of the province of Girona, Catalonia. The place had an advantage for a bodybuilder: it stands in the middle of a densely forested area — Selva means forest or jungle in Catalan — which mattered at a time when bodywork was made of wood. Ayats is one of several coachbuilders based in Arbúcies, together with Indcar, Beulas, Noge and Boari.
The Olimpia in the range
