History of the Autosan-Czawdar 11M4/H11
A joint export project
In 1979 Autosan and Czawdar, working together, built two prototype tourist coaches designated Autosan-Czawdar 11M4/H11. The project was aimed mainly at export to Middle Eastern countries. The Polish side supplied the chassis, while the body was the Bulgarian Czawdar 11M4, produced in Bulgaria under licence from the German firm Setra.
The coach was powered by a six-cylinder in-line SW680/78/1 diesel of 11,100 cm³ and 136 kW (185 hp), coupled to a six-speed S6-90 manual gearbox. The running gear combined a Jelcz front axle with a Rába rear drive axle. Series production was never undertaken.
