History of the Alfa Romeo Caimano
The Caimano features many unconventional design elements, one of the most striking being a large glass canopy-windshield that incorporates the doors as well. Its B and C pillars form a trapezoidal roll bar at the rear of the car, which also doubles as an adjustable spoiler that can be controlled from inside the cabin. The car also has two smaller windows in the doors for ventilation.

The Caimano uses the 1.3-litre boxer H4 engine and the five-speed gearbox of the Alfasud, whose chassis was shortened by almost eight inches for the concept.
