History of the Alfa Romeo Dardo

The Dardo was introduced in 1998 as a concept car by Pininfarina. It was equipped with the 2.5-litre V6 from the 156 and had a wheelbase slightly shorter than that of the 156. The styling of the flanks used closing triangular shapes, as did the rear.

The car included the 156’s dashboard and the leather upholstery used for it and for the seats. Pininfarina worked with Sparco to design and build the seats, which are supposed to have an extremely rigid carbon-Kevlar-carbon shell; the car also had four-point seat belts. Its twin headlights were developed jointly with Valeo.
