History

Development of the Tipo 930, the replacement for the 33 in the family hatchback market, lasted several years. The three-door 145 was shown on static display at the April 1994 Turin Motor Show and at the Paris Motor Show in July. The European launch was planned for September but was delayed until October.

The 145 and 146 share exterior and interior components from the B-pillar forwards. The 146 was the more traditional-looking car, aimed at the customers of the 33. Both were offered in base and better-equipped L (Lusso) trims.
